| Biography | A big surprise for the Spartans womens’ lacrosse team this year is sophomore Lainey Selkirk. The Mattawan attack tried out for the team last year, but bolted after the second day of practice to attend to educational matters. But a year later, and her affairs in order, Selkirk joins a talented Spartan attack that will score goals in bunches this year. The tall (5-11) Selkirk is the perfect X attack in the MSU offensive cog because she’s fast, a great passer and not afraid of contact. “We’re really happy to have Lainey come aboard. She’ll help us this year behind the net and I think in a year, when some of really talented seniors graduate, she’ll really come into her own. She will get a ton of playing time this year and its fun watching her develop,” said Greg Normand, MSU’s head coach. |
