The one aspect of Spartan women’s lacrosse the past few years is that they’ve been waiting for that one elusive star who could shine between the pipes and that one dream might have come home to East Lansing in the form of Bri Houle, a Rockford star, who led the Rams, to the last two MHSAA state championships. The quick-footed net minder is a star in the making and its only a matter of time before she finds her way to the top of the stack. Houle has quick feet, good passing skills and outstandingding leadership skills. Houle will team with starting goalie Kelli Bertolini to form the best Spartan goaltending tandem since Emily Pastula, the now UC Davis head coach and former Spartan coach, graduated eight years ago. “With Kelly and Bri, we have the best goaltending since I started coaching Michigan State six years ago and I am really excited to see what develops with these young ladies,” said Greg Normand, MSU’s head coach. |
