| Biography | The multi-talented senior could be of the best ‘scorers’ in the country. Meyer can score from any place on the field and there are few defenses who can stop her. After switching to attack as a junior, the fleet-footed senior, who is the team’s vice president, should have a breakout year for the Spartans. “Mac plays our left wing on offense and the last five years the person playing that position has scored, on average, 58 goals a year….with Mac, who knows how high the number might get,” said Greg Normand, MSU’s head coach. She can score, she plays defense, she’s a ground ball machine and few in the country shoot as hard, but mostly it’s Meyer’s grit that has opponents wondering who showed up. She comes to East Lansing through some rather strange circumstances. MacKenzie was originally raised in East Lansing, but prepped in New Jersey at the prestigious Pennington School and choose Michigan State over several NCAA scholarship opportunities. She was voted the top mid-fielder in New Jersey by the high school coaches association. "Mackenzie is talented, fast, knows how to play within our system and has great lax IQ," said Normand. |
