Biography Helen Young is the best ball handler on the Michigan State team. She’s never rattled, always makes the right play and she might have the best stick skills on the squad. That’s what she does on the field and off, Young is the MSU women’s lacrosse team’s president and captain. Two years ago, Young was the Spartan’s leading scorer and running the Michigan State offense from X, but this spring, she’s taking her obvious offensive talents to wing where hopefully she can lead the Spartan offense. Young is another in a long line of great offensive players who hail from Grand Rapids. "Helen is a highly skilled lacrosse player and one that we will utilize in all kinds of situations because she has an ability to read the field. She’s a solid player that will help us a lot this spring,” said Greg Normand, MSU's head coach. Young, the daughter of the head women’s lacrosse coach at Grand Rapids Christian, has great stick skills and passing abilities and should play an important part of the Spartans formidable offense.
